Our CSR approach reflects our dedication to ethical business practices, environmental responsibility, and a positive societal impact.
CSR committee (COMITÉ RSE)
Since September 2022, a dedicated CSR committee has been responsible for guiding and overseeing our CSR strategy. The main missions of this committee are to establish and manage our CSR strategy, assess our environmental commitments in relation to regulatory developments, and identify opportunities in the field of CSR.
This committee works closely with the company’s various stakeholders, ensuring a cross-functional and coherent approach to our CSR initiatives. Participation in the committee’s meetings is open to all Skyepharma employees.
Since its creation in 2019, the committee’s management has been entrusted to the HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) department, highlighting our commitment to integrating CSR into the core of our operational functioning. Thanks to this dedicated structure and the commitment of our teams, we are engaged in a proactive CSR approach, aiming to create long-term value for our company and for society as a whole.

- Professional Integration: Actively supporting young professionals with internships and apprenticeships (26 trainees in 2022).
- Managerial Culture: Four-day training for managers to foster a shared leadership approach.
- Team Cohesion: Encouraging team spirit through regular sports events (e.g., Skyetour, badminton tournaments).
Social Responsibility & Community Engagement
We believe in making a positive impact beyond our company by supporting local communities and promoting equality:
- Fighting Poverty: Participation in charity events, donations, and social initiatives.
- Gender Equality: Ensuring a balanced workforce with equal representation of genders.
- Employee Well-being: On-site osteopathy services, with over 120 sessions conducted since 2019.
- Work-Life Balance: Promoting flexible working hours to support employee well-being.
Environmental Responsibility
We are dedicated to minimizing our environmental footprint by implementing sustainable practices across our operations:
- Energy Consumption Reduction: Cutting our energy consumption by 50% over three years.
- Biodiversity Preservation: Supporting biodiversity with on-site initiatives such as beehives, sustainable landscaping, and tree planting.
- Waste Management: Waste sorting policies and paper consumption reduction initiatives.
- Sustainable Infrastructure: Construction of a new biotechnology facility meeting + low-energy standards.
- Sustainable Drug Design: Our early-stage formulation development focuses on enhancing API bioavailability and reducing drug intake through advanced drug delivery systems such as Geomatrix®, Geoclock®, and Soctec®.
- IT Equipment Reuse: Extending the lifecycle of IT hardware by repurposing and optimizing usage.
- Skyepharma is able to use eco-friendly packaging made from sugarcane. This sustainable packaging can be handled by the company’s automatic bottle line without any additional fees for the same format. These bottles are fully recyclable.

Economic Commitments
As a key player in the pharmaceutical industry, we actively contribute to local economic development:
- Youth Employment Promotion: 51% of our workforce is under 35 years old, reflecting our commitment to hiring young talent in the region.
- Job Creation: 84 new jobs created since 2016, strengthening local employment opportunities.
- Local Sourcing: Prioritizing local and European suppliers whenever possible to support regional economies and ensure sustainable supply chains.
