SkyePharma is capable of offering a tailored range of supply chain solutions to fit with its partners’ requirements. 

Typical projects would start with a development phase – for example it could involve a new formulation of an existing product, a new combination of existing products or a tailored release profile for a new product. During the development phase, SkyePharma can source approved pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), excipients and component parts and can manufacture test formulation and early stage clinical and in vitro trial batches as part of a collaborative development project. 

For customers wishing to manufacture the finished product themselves, SkyePharma offers the capability and expertise to assist in the transfer of the manufacturing process to a partner's facility.

For customers wishing to have a completely outsourced solution, SkyePharma offers in-house manufacturing of quality products in clinical batch and pilot scale at our site in Muttenz, near Basel in Switzerland, and commercial scale volumes of finished dosage formulations at our FDA-registered manufacturing site in Lyon, France. This site is able to distribute products in either bulk or packaged form.

Throughout the process of development and supply of products SkyePharma offers experienced professional project planning, project management and production and distribution scheduling, tailored to the needs of each customer.
